Fighting Cancer Isn't Sexy - Part 14 - Sweaty and staring at the finish line

I'm still alive. I truly wake up each day so fucking happy. I appreciate every little thing so much. I had my 7th chemo treatment yesterday for this round. Total chemo treatments? I can't remember. Maybe 13? The Docs have stopped giving me Oxilalplatin chemo and are still giving me the 5FU chemo that I have in a portable chemo pack that I wear for 48 hours. I still feel sick after getting the 5FU. But I'm able to get out of bed, eat well and my neighbors have even been treated to seeing me rake a few leaves in my ridiculous comfy pants! So happy to be able to feel normal while I'm "sick". My nurse told me the Oxilalplatin almost killed me. YAY NOT BEING DEAD!!!!

I had terrible night sweats due to chemo last night. Went through a few t-shirt changes. My taste buds are fucked up. I have this weird super sick sweet taste in my mouth. But man, I ONLY HAVE 1 MORE CHEMO TREATMENT TO GO!!!!! I am sooooooooooo excited! It's been such a long 14 months. I look forward to a nice period of rest health and happiness. My doc is scheduling me for scans a month or 2 after the final Chemo. I hope to hell that I am truly rid of cancer. I hope never to deal with this again. But I have to be realistic. Cancer comes back in so many patients. If it does, I will beat he hell out of it again. I will NEVER stop fighting!!

My Twitter friends, Facebook pals, family, friends and neighbors have all helped me in my fight. I love you all! As you know, another thing that has helped keep me happy, energized and grateful is my 4th Annual fundraiser for The Carroll Center for the Blind. I have tweeted and posted on Facebook about it hundreds of times. It was too much for some, who sent me either kind or cruel messages about how I was going overboard. Made me hurt a bit, but also made me giggle. A guy who is fighting cancer and trying to raise $ for the blind is going overboard? LOL! Fuck that. I will never stop. My true friends and supporters have been AMAZING in their support! So many kind celebs have donated $ themselves or donated perks or both! I thank Alyssa Milano, Kristen Johnston, Kristin Davis, Sarah Brown, Kathy Najimy, Eliza Dushku, Nia Vardalos, Ralph Macchio, Nadia Bjorlin, Jeri Ryan, Maria Menounos, Michael Chiklis, Jenny McCarthy, Mark Valley, Chris Gorham, Jason O'Mara, Craig Bierko, Bianca Kajlich and a extra special thanks to Jonny Lee Miller who made the largest donation and touched my soul!!

My Twitter pals Martha, Jennifer, Marie, Shawn, Marcia & so many others have tweeted non-stop for me and donated so kindly! I can't thank each one of you, there are too many!! But know that I appreciate EVERYTHING!!! We have raised a terrific $12,806!! I am soooooooooooo happy!!! But I have just 32 days to reach the $35,000 goal. With so much celeb involvement & Twitter support, we should easily reach that mark. But I NEED YOU to please continue to donate what you can. If you can afford $10, don't be embarrassed! Donate it with pride that you are helping the blind! If you have the means, PLEASE DON'T HOLD BACK!!! I really need to reach that goal online. The fees from the fundraising site will be doubled if we don't reach it. I love you guys! I need you.

Please continue to help me and the Carroll Center for the Blind. I talk about CCB a lot. But sometimes pictures speak louder. Please take a look at these photos. See the smiles, the joy and the CONFIDENCE on the faces of the blind children and adults: https://www.facebook.com/CarrollCenter/photos_stream Then kindly visit my fundraising page and donate: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/geno-s-world-s-4th-annual-fundraiser-for-the-carroll-center-for-the-blind/x/972504

 I love you all - Geno :)
