Jennifer Aniston will never be Rachel Green again.

The "Sex and The City" movie in the works has people wagging their tongues about a "Friends" movie. Not so fast.........
Exposay:
Jennifer Aniston has ruined the chances of a 'Friends' reunion by saying she will never play Rachel Green again.
The Hollywood actress has cut short chances of a TV special or movie version of the hit show by saying she isn't interested in reprising her role.
A source said: "There have been whispers of a 'Friends' movie for a while now, especially with the 'Sex and the City' film finally getting the go-ahead."
"But it can't happen without Jen and she thinks 'Friends' has had it's time and she should move on with her film career."
"I think if they were given a chance the rest of the cast would probably go for it but Jen sees playing Rachel again - even in a film - as going back, not moving forward."
"She wants to earn respect as a movie actress in her own right and take on more seriously roles to stretch her acting ability."
"She sees making a 'Friends' movie as a failure on her part."
'Friends', which won prestigious Emmy and Golden Globe awards, was a global hit spanning 10 series between 1994 and 2004. It also starred Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt Le Blanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow

This is just plan SAD!!! Friends was and is one of the best shows ever made...it never should have ended.
I've always admired Jennifer Anniston...until now. How can she have the audasity & conceit to say that it would be a "step back" and a "failure" on her part to do a Friends reunion? Get over yourself, Jen!!!
Jennifer Anniston is who she IS today because of FRIENDS. She'll always be known as "Rachel Green"... and that's a good thing. Come on Jen...don't forget where you came from - you owe it to your fans!

Kym, I agree with most of what you said. However, I do think that "Friends" ended at the right time. It's good to go out on top!

I agree with Jennifer Aniston, Friends was an execeleent show and start for her but it should remain the tasteful way it ended, sometimes a movie isnt as good as the orgianl series, she made the right choice, it would be a bad move on her part career wise

I agree with the last comment, Jen should not go back to a lower status, yes, friends was good, but we all know the movies they make after these type of series isnt nowhere as good so she is wise to pass it one up, good for you Jen,

I understand why she says this. A Friends Movie would be horrible. It would probably ruin the show, because the show was great because it was a sitcom, it's not film material and should be left alone. And I'm a huge friends star, so as much as I'd love it...I'd also fear that it'd be bad.

I agree with Kym! "Friends" MADE Jennifer Aniston a star -- not the films she's made since then. People don't associate Jennifer with whatever film role she had during "Friends" or post-"Friends." Whether she likes it or not, to her fans she will ALWAYS be "Rachel Green." She better be careful about alienating those fans, because they can make or break her.

I agree with the first Anonymous person.I love friends, but a movie after a sitcom is odd.If the movie was at the begining you could've easily understood the sitcom.Anyway,if they somehow make a movie without her or if she caves in,hope its great. If not, whatever

Oh my God she is sooooooo Rachel Green, this character has made her what she is today. She definitley needs to get over herself. Friends may have ended on top but that does not change the fact that this would be a great idea. People that loved friends would most likely find it awesome!!! They all had great chemistry and it would be great to see them together again.

I agree with the comments about the movies not being near as good as the shows they come from, but if we could get Jen & Courtney to show some skin....... (sorry Lisa)

Yes, Friends MADE Jennifer the star she is. But that's IT. I don't think a Friends movie would be any good. However, none of her movies have made her a movie star either! Most of them STINK! Seems she should be happy for what she has.

Jennifer Aniston will always be Jennifer Aniston. To agree with the negative comments is akin to saying that Rick Schroeder will always be Ricky Stratton. Jennifer is where she is today because of her wonderful, diverse acting abilities. Everyone has the right and duty to themselves to grow as a human being and leaving the past behind is required to do so.

I love Jenifer Aniston, and I loved Friends. If there was a movie, I would see it, no matter how bad it is. My only problem is the plot...the show ended at a point where everyone kind of went seperate ways...Jen, If you do read this, you should give it a try at least, read over the plot, or whatever anyone has planned. If you think it will be bad and is not worth your time, I'll aggree, but give Hollywood a chance, it could also be very good....

I think it is a very smart move on Jen's part not to make the movie. Friends is a sitcom and it should stay that way. I can already picture all the people badging on the movie for how bad it was if they were to make it; and that would ruin everything Friends conquered! In this case it is good to be safe and leave Friends as it is. It is very mature on Jen's part to focus on her film career - which in my opinion she is doing a great job on. Her talent shouldnt stay on a sitcom. And I dont think she is being conceited at all. I think she is only being mature and also humble. She wants to challenge herself and grow. And that's admireable! And just one little thing. She is not Rachel Green. She is Jen. And when i remember her...i dont think "Rache" i think Jen and her new triumphs!! Rock on JEN!

Hi all, had to post again.I just wanted to clarify my post & add a few things. I do agree that a "MOVIE" wouldn't be a the best choice (although I would of course be there the day it came out). They said a movie or a "T.V. SPECIAL". I think THAT would be so cool to see what their lives are like now with marriage, kids, careers, etc. Especially to see if Ross & Rachel finally get married after all of their ups, downs & BREAKS! :) Even if it wasn't as good (which I can't imagine that happening) it wouldn't ruin the fact that it was still one of the best sitcoms ever. The FRIENDS writers are so genius & I know they would make it awesome!!! I love Jennifer Anniston but I did lose some respect for her because of her decision. All of the other cast members are game for a reunion show...what makes her so special to be the only one to turn it down? FRIENDS was a hit because of their incredible chemistry... as a whole! Of course people may have their favorite characters (I love them all & can't pick just one because they're all so amazingly hilarious) but it wasn't just Jen that made the show. If I were the other cast members I'd be ticked off big time. I don't see what the big deal is Jen, you're going to make an obsurd amount of money doing this...probably way more than any of your movies- combined!!! I stronly feel that you owe it to your fans & the other cast members. Please reconsider... you're making a big mistake.

P.S. To the 4th anonymous person above...Your post says it all. The real question is, "WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE"?. Oh that's right there isn't one. It's a shame you had to take postings of adult opinions and reply with such a childlike attack. Sorry you dislike the show...that's your loss.

I think it would be terrible to make a FRIENDS film i think they should do another episode and maybe another series I don't aree with Jen i think it would be great and she should give it a shotI will always think of Jen as "Rachel Green"

Anonymous said...

what happened to Jen wanting to reunite with her co-stars to make another episode i reckon that plan should go ahead it would e great i really miss friends and i wish it was still running

Anonymous said...

Next year they are airing four new double episodes of Friends It took a while but Jen has finally agreed to it

K said...

What's that about those new double episodes? I couldn't find any information on it on the internet. Is it really true? If so I'd be really glad. Gosh, I loved Friends, and I was so sad when she show ended.
Btw, I pretty much agree to what Kym said. I kind of do respect Jen's decision to move because she seemed to have a really hard time to get over the end of friends and she might be afraid to have some kind of reunion, but on the other hand it would be plain selfish towards her fans and towards the rest of the Friends cast. Besides, I really wanna see her with "Ross" again. :-)
