Foreigner is getting ready to release a new CD at the end of this year or early next year. The band is said to be recording new versions of some of their older hits including a stripped down version of 1987's "Say You Will".....Please. Say you won't do that. I love Foreigner. Their music was fabulous in the 70's, 80's and 90's. "Jukebox Hero", "Feels Like The First Time", "Urgent' etc. are true classics. To go into the studio and rerecord these classics without lead singer Lou Gramm is a crime. The current lineup includes founder Mick Jones, Jason Bonham on drums and Kelly Hanson on vocals. Billboard

Their last CD -- 1994's MR. MOONLIGHT -- may actually be my favorite Foreigner album. (It was released in the U.S. in 1995, but I got the import a year earlier, back when it was much harder to get imports.) The combination on MR. MOONLIGHT of Lou Gramm with both of his long-time songwriting partners (Mick Jones and Bruce Turgon) was hard to beat. I wish that line-up could have recorded another one before Lou had the brain surgery. Oh-well.
I admit that I don't have that CD. Maybe I'll give it a shot!
It ranks right up there with the first three albums. I like the running order of the import better than the U.S. version, but they remixed "All I Need to Know" for the U.S. version, and it is vastly improved (and it was already a favorite).
By the way, Kelly Hansen is a great singer, but he does not have the Foreigner sound. Then again, neither does Lou Gramm anymore, which is just too sad for words.
