Happy Belated birthday to Steve Howe. Steve turned 60 yesterday. His work with Yes, GTR & Asia have entertained me for years. Whenever you see a list of the top guitarists ever, Steve's name is mentioned along with Hendrix, Van Halen, Clapton, etc.... Steve still plays with fire! One of my favorites remains ABWH, which I like to say as "Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman... and how!"
I played that CD quite a bit. "Order of The Universe" and "Brother of Mine" kick ass!
ABWH's "Order" chorus (in which Anderson sings the title over and over again) is a re-use of the musical phrase John Wetton re-wrote as "You're lying to yourself again" and repeated a few times in that classic ASIA b-side. So you hit on the two ABWH songs with the closest ASIA ties.
The Wetton influence is everywhere!
