Blinded by an explosion, Rabih now helps The Carroll Center for the Blind with their amazing mission

Rabih Dow presents a young Carroll Center for the Blind graduate with his graduation certificate

One of the more inspiring people that I have the pleasure of knowing is Rabih Dow. Rabih is the Director of Rehabilitation services at The Carroll Center for the Blind. He works tirelessly at making sure the clients at CCB are provided the best services and he does so with amazing skill. Rabih's journey was not an easy one. He was blinded and lost a hand due to an explosion when he was a teenager. He came to CCB as a student not knowing any English and uncertain of his future.

Rabih talks in the latest CCB Focus publication of his experience at CCB as a teenager. "They provided me a space to take a deep breath and look around; a safe and understanding place; a hopeful place." "The Carroll Center provides solutions to daily little problems- what to do when your coffee spills, how to match your socks, how to cross the street." "The staff had unshakable confidence in what they were showing me and they were determined that I would succeed".

Yes, Rabih has certainly succeeded. CCB helped transform Rabih into the amazing man he is today. Being a former client of CCB, Rabih understands better than anyone what the CCB clients are going through. His attitude, his work ethic and his fantastic skills are a tribute to what The Carroll Center can do. Rabih is yet another shining example of why I'm raising money for The Carroll Center. Please support my cause!
