Well now things couldn't get worse, could they?
ET has learned that the controversial audio tapes, purported to be of Mel Gibson unleashing an angry rant on ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, have now been turned over to Los Angeles Sheriff's detectives.
The court has released the tapes to the detectives handling the Gibson domestic violence investigation. The headline-grabbing audio tapes will also be reviewed by forensic detectives.
Earlier Thursday, ET learned that Gibson would be investigated on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
