Mel Gibson should really count to ten.

Think about how the angriest you have ever been. At that point would you ever say something like this? Nope. Me neither.
In a series of expletive-laced outbursts caught on tape, actor Mel Gibson reportedly told his baby mama that the way she was dressed would get her "raped by a pack of n------," according to a new report.
The jaw-dropping tapes, obtained by RadarOnline.com, are the latest chapter in the couple's bitter legal feud. Gibson's vile comments, caught on audio tape, are a mix of racist and misogynist statements aimed at former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, RadarOnline reported.
"You're an embarrassment to me," Mel told her at one point. "You look like a f---ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n-------, it will be your fault."

In another tirade, Gibson, 54, reportedly shouted, "How dare you act like such a bitch when I have been so f----ing nice."
He then warned her: "I am going to come and burn the f---ing house down ... but you will [have oral sex with] me first," according to RadarOnline.

Well, maybe she deserved it and he was just reacting in anger the way many would. I still like Mel and will continue to watch his movies and like him. I'm sure many who cast negative judgement towards him are NO better than he or anyone else.

...Ahh what tangled web celebs weave... see... you'll have replies like Thanatos', basically condoning Mel Gibson's vulgar tirade (not his first...or second...btw...lest we forget the other instances that made headlines in the past few years)...

But Thanatos also touches upon the thing that makes instances like this a conundrum... Do we have the right to ridicule celebs who do and say such vile things? Technically there are many racists, homophobes, anti-semites and sexists in the world...but they aren't all in the public eye...so they can live, say and do as they please without the risk of public humility and outrage. Mel Gibson said these things in "private" but because he's a celeb, the whole world finds out... Had he not been taped, or been famous... we'd be none the wiser really... and you'd pass him in the street and smile. So... where does this leave us?

For sure he's all of the things I mentioned above...but do I cut him some slack because he lacks the privacy to carry out his bigotry?
