If Mariah Carey’s surprise wedding to Nick Cannon, has stunned the singer’s friends and family - her failure to get her boyfriend of one month to sign a pre-nuptial agreement is a source of concern for some.
The impulsive couple reportedly married at Mariah’s new home in the Bahamas earlier this week, just days after Mariah sparked engagement rumours by flashing a sparkler on her finger at the Tribeca Film Festival.
A concerned source tells the New York Post, "There was no pre-nup - there wasn't time."
However another pal is more hopeful of the union.
"Everyone is happy to see her happy. And it could work out - some people know each other for five years and get divorced, maybe this is true instant love," says the insider.
Mariah was previously married to record label boss Tommy Mottola.
TV actor Nick was engaged to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks last year, but the couple split five months later.
