"24"'s executive producer defends the show's torture scenes.

There are torture scenes on "24"? Really?
Star Pulse:
24 boss Howard Gordon has defended the show's use of torture on the series - insisting the furor has been "overblown" by the media. The action series regularly sees the show's hero Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland, use torture as a means of gaining information.
However executive producer/show runner Howard Gordon recently met up with a human rights organization to discuss the matter after the show started receiving complaints. Gordon insists it was a productive meeting, and the media have tried to stir up trouble.
Speaking to promote the U.K. DVD launch of season six, he says, "Human Rights First was the organization. And they bought with them, the Dean of West Point and one of the chief interrogators from the F.B.I. It was an informational... it was really a very, very productive debate. And I think the media has, frankly, twisted the substance and spirit of that meeting. I think it's been overblown."
