I'm not a regular viewer of "American Idol". I know there's millions who watch religiously, but I watch enough TV...That being said, I caught some of last night's premiere. The horror show of freaky contestants with no talent was great TV. I felt for a lot of these people who sincerely believe that they have talent. Brenna (pictured) was particularly....Interesting....And no, I couldn't do any better. But I know enough not to go on national TV and try to sing....Except for that one time when I ran onto the field at Fenway Park. I still have the bruises from being tackled at home plate. Damn that alcohol. It had a hold on me that day....

I liked it so much better back in the 70s when it was called "The Gong Show".
Chuck Barris is a God!! Did you ever see "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind"? ..Good stuff.
No, but I watched "The Gong Show: The Movie" while drugged up on hydrocodone after my foot operation. Twice. Of course I also watched "Mandingo" the same day. It's amazing what you can watch when you're so stoned you can't grab the remote.
Rent "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind". It will change your view of Chuckie...
As a resident of Minnesota (although I still consider myself a transplanted New Yorker), I was not proud of what I saw of the first night of Idol. But now that it's over, I can go on ignoring the show as I usually do.
It wasn't a pretty sight Ray. I won't be watching much anymore either.
