Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland — who has long battled drug and alcohol addiction — went back to rehab Wednesday night after their gig at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, according to the band's publicist.
"Weiland voluntarily entered a rehab facility" following the group's performance, reads a statement provided to MTV News. "[Thursday's] San Diego show at the House of Blues has been postponed; the rescheduled date for San Diego is TBA. Velvet Revolver deeply apologize to their fans and thank them for sticking by the group."
The statement did not disclose which facility Weiland had entered or for which substance the singer was seeking treatment. According to a source close to the band, Weiland's rehab stay is not expected to affect its future touring plans.
But the move could potentially stand in the way of a much-rumored reunion of the Stone Temple Pilots. Sources who asked to remain anonymous had told MTV News that the band would be revived this summer for a one-off reunion tour of the U.S., but the band and its representatives have yet to confirm the trek. According to sources, negotiations are still ongoing and venues have been reserved throughout the country for the jaunt, with label reps and managers actively trying to secure their bands opening slots on the proposed run.

Simon Cowell is known for skewering awful singers on "American Idol," but now he's turning on "Idol" sweetheart Katharine McPhee!

Mr. Nasty is also taking on fellow judge Paula Abdul and her new single, "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow."
"Uh, I'm glad Paula's made a record," Simon admitted. But as for whether he'd give her a thumbs up if she were a contestant on "Idol," "Probably not."
But even the so-called "Sultan of Slams" wouldn't resist dishing out one more ticket to Hollywood for Paula.
"I think she should definitely perform it on the show," he said.

According to her publicist, "Eva is attending to some personal business in Los Angeles and intends to return to complete her treatment shortly."
The actress checked in at the beginning of February to deal with some personal issues.
At the time, her rep commented that "Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support."
Sources tell us she's being treated for depression.

So it should come as no surprise to learn that Sir Tom Jones, 67, whose mop of luxurious curly brown hair has made him a hit with the ladies, has had his chest hair insured - for the princely sum of £3.5million!
Top insurance house Lloyd's of London was approached about the deal and, after initial concerns that it might prove too much of a risk, went ahead.
"Like a vintage wine, Tom just gets better with age," says our body hair mole.
"Even at the grand old age of 67, the ladies love his hip-thrusting moves and catching a sneaky peak of his famously rugged chest hair."
Sir Tom, who is currently in LA working on his new album, is not the first celebrity to have a body part insured against damage.
